A People's Curriculum for the Earth" workshop, March 4th -- Free book

Dear Portland Area Rethinking Schools friends,

Please consider joining us for a day-long workshop on teaching about the climate crisis. We’ll focus on activities in the Rethinking Schools book that we edited, A People’s Curriculum for the Earth: Teaching Climate Change and the Environmental Crisis.

When: Saturday, March 4 — 9 am to 3 pm
Where: Portland — to be announced
Cost: Free, lunch included, but registration is required
Sponsors: Portland Association of Teachers, Portland Public Schools Climate Justice Committee, Rethinking Schools, and the Zinn Education Project

Apply here: http://bit.ly/2lkN2z4

All participants will receive a free copy of A People’s Curriculum for the Earth. And thanks to a grant from the Mayer and Morris Kaplan Family Foundation, people who would like to lead their own follow-up workshops on climate and environmental justice themes will be able to apply for free copies of the book to use with participants.

We hope you’ll consider joining us, along with other Portland-area colleagues.

Note that we are high school teachers, so the day will have a middle school/high school/teacher education bias, but all are welcome, including non-school-based popular educators.
