Rethinking Schools Book Celebration, Friday

Dear Portland Area Rethinking Schools friends,

Friday, January 9, was our first Rethinking Schools TGIF of 2009, a celebration for the new book, RETHINKING EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION, edited by Ann Pelo. 

Ann Pelo was unable to join us from Seattle, but Portland area contributors to the book presented: Katie KissingerMelanie QuinnPeter Campbell, and Laura Linda Negri-Pool.

RETHINKING EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION collects inspiring stories about social justice teaching with young children. The book includes outstanding writing from childcare teachers, early-grade public school teachers, scholars, and parents.

When: Friday, January 9th, 4 - 6 pm; program begins at 4:30
Where: Subud Center, 3185 NE Regents Drive, Portland

Ann Pelo will speak about themes in the book, and she and contributors will be available to sign books.

RETHINKING EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION retails for $18.95, but will be offered at a special celebration price of just $10.

This is a great book for parents of young children, as well as educators of young children -- and all children.
