Dear Portland Area Rethinking Schools friends,

Next Friday, Nov. 6, 350PDX and Rethinking Schools are sponsoring a workshop, led by Bill Bigelow and Tim Swinehart, co-editors of the new Rethinking Schools book "A People's Curriculum for the Earth: Teaching Climate Change and the Environmental Crisis."

The workshop is titled "Teaching Blockadia—How the Movement Against Fossil Fuels Is Changing the World," and
features a role play activity that highlights themes in Naomi Klein's book "This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. the Climate."

Where: Central Lutheran Church, 1820 NE 21st Ave., Portland
When: 4-6 pm, Friday, November 6
RSVP required

We'll discuss how teachers and activists can collaborate to develop more consciousness about the climate crisis and steps we can take to address it.

Participants will include members of 350PDX neighborhood organizing teams, along with classroom teachers and other educators. We have a 40 person limit, with only a few spots left.
