Teaching Social Justice Conf.: October 29

Dear Portland Area Rethinking Schools friends,

We have changed the date of the 9th annual Northwest Teaching for Social Justice Conference from October 15 to October 29. Sorry for any inconvenience, but we did not want to conflict with the Teaching with Purpose conference. We'll still be at Madison High School in Portland. www.nwtsj.org.

The cut-off date for proposing a workshop is July 1. So now is the time. Please go to www.nwtsj.org and click on "Workshop Proposal Application" in the upper left of the website.

Also at our website: past conference programs, sample workshops, videos of past keynotes -- David Stovall, Curtis Acosta, and Bob Peterson, as well as a "Transforming Teacher Unions" panel.

Please join this annual festival of inspiration, wisdom, and commitment to justice. October 29, 2016. Madison High School, Portland. Keynote speaker this year is Kevin Kumashiro, founding director of the Center for Anti-Oppressive Education.

Thanks for your work to make the world a better place.
